How do I clean and maintain climbing handholds?
Regularly brush climbing handholds with a suitable climbing-hold brush to remove chalk, dust, and dirt. For deeper cleaning, follow the manufacturer's instructions, as cleaning methods vary depending on the material. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools that may damage the surface. Ensure holds are completely dry before use, and regularly check for cracks, chips, loose bolts, or other signs of wear to help maintain a safe climbing environment.
How do I install climbing handholds?
Use climbing handholds only on a properly constructed climbing wall designed to support climbing loads. Check that each hold is compatible with your wall type and uses the correct bolts or mounting hardware. Position the holds as desired, then tighten the hardware without overtightening.
Inspect each hold for movement and ensure the wall and fixings are secure before use. For safety, follow the hold manufacturer's installation instructions and have the wall and mounting system assessed by a qualified professional when needed.
